Chapter Activities:On Memorial Day and Veterans Day each year, our chapter helps host the celebrations at Sun City, Texas, honoring veterans of all wars and those who gave their lives for all of us. Chapter members pass out programs to over 1500 attendees and then serve refreshments to the guests after the ceremony.
On October 11, 2025, for the DAR National Day of Service, our chapter made "goody bags" for the "First" First Responders (the ladies that take the first 911 calls) stationed at the Sun City Police station on DB Wood to thank them for everything they do for the residents of Georgetown, Texas.
As one of our America 250! projects to bring awareness to the community about our nation's 250th anniversary, we created "Patriot Signs" to display in the community and at our Meetings.
Our Chapter has a very active book club. We generally meet in a member's home. A book will be selected the previous month for the members to read. At our meeting, a lively discussion generally takes place as we discuss the book. On occasion, we may also meet at a local restaurant. In December we celebrated with a Cake to kick off America 250!
Children view the Robert Gilbert Livingston Chapter, NSDAR, display at the Georgetown Public Library during Native American Heritage Month.
We presented an America 250! certificate and medal to Jenny Phillips on behalf of the Sun City Community Association for their support and inclusion of our chapter at major events such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies in Sun City.
