Preston Trail Chapter, NSDAR

Pottsboro, Texas

Preston Trail Banner Preston Trail Chapter, NSDAR, is located in Pottsboro, Texas, an hour north of Dallas. This area of Texas, near the Red River and beautiful Lake Texoma, boasts a rich, exciting history. Chapter members focus community efforts in Pottsboro and surrounding towns in Grayson County.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) was founded in October 11, 1890. It is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

The Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Inc., (TXDAR) is proud to have more than 200 chapters and 19,000-plus Daughters across the Lone Star State. We invite all women ages 18 and older to contact us to begin the complimentary research to determine whether you have an ancestor from the American Revolution in your lineage.

Daughters often begin their DAR journeys with a keen interest in exploring their families’ connection to the American Revolution. But once they become actively engaged with a chapter, they soon begin to cherish the friendships and service opportunities available to women of all ages through DAR.

DAR’s three mission areas, Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism, are our chapter’s main areas of service. We are proud of our long legacy of support to veterans, educators, and the preserving of historic places important to our community.

We welcome prospective members and invite you to join us at a regular meeting. We meet from 5–7 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month from September to May. Contact us for specific meeting time and location information.
