Chapter Projects

Project Patriot Our chapter continues to raise money for this very worthwhile cause that supports America's service personnel in current conflicts abroad.

Constitution Week - We proudly presented a framed copy of the Preamble of the Constitution to Greenville Senior High School and passed out book markers with the Preamble on it to students at the school.  Radio and television spots sponsored by the chapter helped educate the public regarding this special time.

DAR Good  Citizen -  We mail packets to high schools in Greenville, Caddo Mills, Celeste, Wolfe City, Quinlan, Campbell, Lone Oak, Bland, Boles Home, and Greenville Christian School.  Seniors in those high schools submit essays and one student is selected from each high school and awarded a DAR Good Citizen certificate and a pin.

Veterans - Our chapter supports the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bonham, TX, with our time, gifts, and money.  We are attempting to collect the names of all living veterans of WWII in Hunt County.

Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum - We presented an American flag and a Texas flag to the museum and have a presence there with the "Today's DAR" video.  The chapter planted a Stephen F. Austin tree at the museum to commemorate the Father of Texas and the spirit of freedom for which the early settlers of Texas fought.

Lineage Research - Our chapter enthusiastically helps aspiring new members with genealogical research to prove their ancestry back to the American Revolution.

Commemorative Events - Each year the chapter participates in the Greenville Fourth of July parade. Members ride in antique convertibles provided by area antique car enthusiasts.

If you are interested in DAR membership in our chapter, we'd love to hear from you.
